Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about renting a roll-off dumpster with Caddo Valley Sanitation.
What items cannot be thrown into the dumpster?
- Prohibited Materials: For safety and environmental reasons, we cannot accept hazardous waste, tires, car batteries, wet paint, oils, flammable liquids, chemicals, asbestos, or large appliances containing freon (like refrigerators or AC units).
- Rule of thumb: If it is hazardous, toxic, or liquid, it cannot go in the bin.
How high can I fill the dumpster?
- Fill to the Rim Only: Debris must remain completely flush and level with the top rim of the container. For highway safety and legal tarping regulations, our drivers cannot transport a dumpster that is overfilled or has items sticking out of the top.
Can I put dirt, bricks, or concrete in the dumpster?
- Yes, with a strict height limit: Because materials like rock, brick, and concrete are incredibly heavy, they quickly max out safety limits. These dense materials cannot exceed a 2-foot height fill limit inside the dumpster. If you have a large amount of heavy debris, please call us ahead of time so we can ensure you have the correct heavy-duty setup.
How long is a standard rental period?
- Flexible Rental Windows: Our standard rental periods are designed to give you plenty of time to finish your project. Contact us directly to discuss your specific timeline, and we will find a rental window that works perfectly for your schedule.
What happens if I need to keep the dumpster longer than my scheduled rental period?
- Notify Us Early: If you need additional days to finish your project, just call us at least 24 hours before your scheduled pickup date! We are happy to extend your rental for just $12.00 per day.
- Avoid the Dry Run Fee: If our driver arrives to pick up the dumpster and you ask to keep it longer without letting us know in advance, a $75.00 Dry Run Fee will be applied to cover the driver’s time and fuel.
How much weight can I put in the dumpster?
- Weight Limits: Each dumpster size (15, 20, and 30-yard) has a specific weight allowance tailored for standard household or construction debris. If you are loading heavy materials like concrete, brick, or roofing shingles, please let us know ahead of time so we can provide the correct size and weight guidelines.
Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?
- No Attendance Required: As long as the drop-off location is completely clear of vehicles, low-hanging branches, and overhead wires, you do not need to be present. Just give us clear placement instructions when you book!
How far in advance do I need to schedule my rental?
- Fast Turnaround: We pride ourselves on local, rapid delivery. While we can often accommodate next-day or even same-day delivery depending on our fleet availability, booking a week in advance guarantees you get the exact size you need on your preferred day.
How much weight can I put in the dumpster?
- Weight Allowances: Our 15-yard and 20-yard dumpster rentals include up to 2 tons of debris weight. Our larger 30-yard dumpster includes up to 3 tons of debris weight. If your project goes over your designated limit, additional weight is prorated at $60.00 per ton.
Can I put tires in the dumpster?
- Yes, with a fee: Unlike many companies, we can accept tires, but they require a $20.00 fee per tire due to specialized local landfill disposal regulations.
